Islamic Prespetive on the Role of Family in Human Dignity.

Abstract

A glance on Islamic teachings makes it clear that Islam came for man's worldly and otherworldly success. Islam guides to the ways which help him to live with dignity. It does not allow him to tarnish the honor and dignity of another human being and also prevents himself from doing anything that is against his own honor and dignity. These teachings are at the individual level as well as at the collective/social level. This article aims to shed light on the role of one of these collective institutions which play basic role in human dignity and honor that is family. In this article the relation of spouses, children and family has been discussed from above mentioned perspective. Article dealt with this issue from three aspects. First, it discusses the Islamic teaching regarding marriage, secondly it takes the relations of husband and wife and explain that how they can honor each other by their behavior and actions. Third part elaborate the Islamic teaching regarding the character development of children. It has been discussed that how the behavior of parents influences kids in the context of dignity.  Qualitative approach has been applied in this article.
