Seerah Contents in Tafseer Al-Muharrer-al-Wajīz and Tafseer Abi-al-Saủd: A Comparative Study of Its Methods and Principles

Abstract

The role of Seerah-e-Tayyaba is very important to understand and explain the Holy Quran. One of the major source of the Seerah of the prophet (pbuh) is the Quran because the biography of the Holy Prophet is a commentry of the Holy Quran itself. In view of this importance, the commentators of the Quran have been also used Seerah as an inference during their commentary discussions. Therefore a comparative study of seerah will be conducted in two authoritative and renowned commentaries "Tafseer Al- Muharrar al-Wajīz and Tafseer Abi-al-Saùd”. In fcat the under investigation study these commentaries are characterized and coverd the various topics of the biography of the Holy Prophet (pbuh). During capmaprson of the Principles and methods of the Contents of Seerah mentioned in the two commentaries its asasumed that both of the commentaries contain valuable research material in the context . Discussions in Tafseer Abial-Saud are described in more detail then Tafseer Al-Muharrer alWajeez Ihere Ibn-e-‘Atiyah usually discusses the events of Seerah under the appliance of revelation while Abi al-Saủd tries to explain the content of Seerah through Quranic context along with the causes of revelation.
The study will adobt a comparative and analytical resech method to reach the conclusion of the study. The comparative study of the principles and methods of Seerah contents in the light of these two commentaries will help to present the discussion of Seerah in an authentic amdmodertae style.
