Abstract

Oneness of God is the main theme and central point of the teachings of all main religions of the world. The sacred books of all the major religions lay stress on unity of God. Initially the followers of all these religions were acting upon the original teachings of the religious leaders but with the passage of time they began to deviate from the basic ideology and teachings of prophets or religious leaders. Holy Quran describes this reality in these words: واُ َفَ تل ْخَ فا ً َ د ة ِ ح َ وا ً ةَّ م ُ أ َّلَِّ إُ ا س َّ الن َ ن َ ا ك ا 1 َ مَ و
Gradually people betrayed from the right path, they made pictures of pious people and started to bow before them. Moreover they scattered in different parts of the world and made their own customs and laws and eventually they indulged in worshipping stones, trees, animals, fire, sun, stars and idols. The main theme and purpose of this article is to elaborate and highlight the similarity between religions regarding oneness of God that is the common point of the sacred literature of all the major religions of the world and the way to merge and consolidate the humanity on this faith. If we want to prosper in this world and be successful in the next world then we should practically adopt unity of God and follow His instructions delivered to us through the Holy Prophets.
