Islam is a complete way of life that provides guidance for every aspect of human life, both individual and social. One of these important aspects is confidentiality, which is essential for protecting human dignity, respect, and mutual trust. In today’s world, where access to information has become very easy, protecting people’s private information has become a major ethical and social challenge. Islam clearly emphasized the importance of confidentiality long ago and instructed people to respect it.
Confidentiality means not sharing a person’s private information, secrets, or personal matters with others without permission. The Qur’an and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) strongly emphasize this principle to maintain trust, respect, and peace in society. Islam not only teaches the protection of others’ secrets but also discourages spying, backbiting, and sharing information without consent. This study will simply explain the importance of confidentiality in the light of the Qur’an and Hadith, along with its principles and its impact on society.
