Abstract

Allah has ordained for humanity a code of life in the form of Islam which not guides humanity in every walk of life but also protect their life, property, self-esteem and reason. Human life and reason are great blessings of Allah which to be put on the righteous path Shariah stops from any such act which may damage any of the two. Addiction or intoxication is one among those things which damage human life and reason. Islamic Shariah has not only prohibited drugs and intoxication but has also prohibited dealings in drugs. But a question rises that which intoxicant things and drinks are prohibited and what injunction has been ordained with respect to the penalty of drug users under Hudood? Furthermore, that what is the standard of intoxication? In the article at hand, an endeavor has been made to find answers to these questions.
