Christians generally believe that there are four Gospels in the world, but in the sixteenth century another Gospel also came to light with the name Barnabas, which is attributed to the disciple Barnabas. This is related to the Urdu translation of the same Gospel under review. This article consists of two parts: the first part introduces Barnabas and the Gospel attributed to him and it has been made clear that by what means this gospel has reached us; the second part of the article provides a comparative overview of the Urdu translation of the Gospel. We usually have two Urdu translations of the Gospel of Barnabas. One of them is the translation of Maulana Haleem Ansari which first came to light in 1910, while the second translation is by Prof. Asi Zia’ee Sahib which was first published in 1974.This article provides a comparative analysis of these two translations.
